David Sacks: ‘Trump’s $12M Fundraiser Shows Growing Support in Liberal San Francisco’

On June 6, 2024, Donald Trump held a fundraiser in San Francisco hosted by David Sacks and Chamath Palihapitiya.

Despite California being one of the bluest cities in America, the Silicon Valley event raked in nearly $12 million.

“We had something like a hundred people there. Every seat was taken. We literally couldn’t fit. One more person in the house was completely sold out. And by the way, those protesters who were outside, those were actually pro-Trump demonstrators,” Sacks told Laura on the latest episode of ‘The Ingraham Angle.”

The Craft Ventures co-founder also highlighted the importance of the event’s turnout for Trump’s presidential campaign.

“If that’s what’s happening in liberal San Francisco, what does that tell you about what’s happening throughout the country?” he asked.

Sacks explained that Trump has garnered support from the technology industry in Silicon Valley due to the Biden Administration’s hostility towards innovation.

Yet the real struggle is getting supporters to come out and vote at the polls in November.

“I know there’s a lot of people out there who are already Trump supporters and they’re just afraid to stick their their necks out. I mean, that’s the reality of the situation because they’re afraid of getting ostracized or afraid of cancel culture,” Sacks said.

“But with each incremental person who sticks their neck out and endorses Trump, it makes the rest of them feel more comfortable doing it. And you’re seeing, I think, a cascade starting to happen now where more and more people are going to come out for Trump.”
