Texas Lt. Gov. Patrick: ‘It’s Time to Start Arresting Illegals and Upholding Our Laws

In a recent episode of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, host Laura Ingraham and Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick discussed a significant Supreme Court decision regarding border enforcement. The Court ruled 6 to 3 in favor of SB 4, a Texas law allowing the state to arrest illegal border crossers, much to the dismay of the Biden administration and Mexican officials.

Ingraham pointed out the irony in the White House’s statement, which criticized the ruling as harmful and unconstitutional. The statement, released by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, read, “We fundamentally disagree with the Supreme Court’s order allowing Texas’ harmful and unconstitutional law to go into effect. S.B. 4 will not only make communities in Texas less safe, it will also burden law enforcement, and sow chaos and confusion at our southern border.”

A Win for Border Security: Supreme Court Backs Texas in Landmark Decision

Lt. Gov. Patrick expressed his long-held belief in the constitutionality of SB 4, emphasizing that Texas is facing an invasion by land, sea, and air. He highlighted the influx of illegal immigrants and drugs into the state, exacerbated by President Biden’s open border policies. Patrick confidently stated that the law is now in effect and will lead to the arrest and repatriation of illegal immigrants, a move he believes is supported by the majority of Americans, regardless of their political affiliations.

Ingraham also brought up the reaction of the Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretary, who rejected the Supreme Court’s decision and stated that Mexico would not accept repatriations from Texas. She contrasted this with the effective cooperation between the U.S. and Mexico during President Trump’s administration, facilitated by the Remain in Mexico policy and the threat of tariffs.

Patrick praised President Trump’s border security measures and expressed optimism that the border would be secured again should Trump return to the White House. He emphasized the widespread frustration among Americans with the current state of illegal immigration and expressed confidence in the eventual success of SB 4 in the courts. Ingraham and Patrick’s discussion highlighted the ongoing political and legal battles over border enforcement and immigration policy in the United States.
