Rod Blagojevich: DOJ’s Political Hitmen Target Mayor Adams for Migrant Criticism

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was a guest in a segment of The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, where he expressed his skepticism about the justice system’s handling of high-profile political figures, drawing on his personal experience. Amid the ongoing legal troubles of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Blagojevich cautioned that the public should maintain a “healthy skepticism” regarding the motivations behind these charges.

Blagojevich, who has himself faced legal challenges and experienced what he refers to as a “weaponized” justice system, emphasized that Adams, like all individuals, deserves the presumption of innocence. However, he pointed to a pattern of politically motivated prosecutions, particularly against those who have taken bold stances against the Biden administration. According to Blagojevich, Adams’ criticism of the federal government’s mishandling of migrant issues could be a catalyst for the legal action against him.

Trump: “Eric Adams Is Another Target of the Political Witch Hunt”

Blagojevich compared Adams’ situation to what he sees as the politically charged cases against figures like former President Trump, stating, “He’s being Alvin Bragged, he’s being Letitia Jamesed, he’s being Fani Willised, and he’s being Jack Smithed.” This reference points to the legal figures who have played roles in prosecuting Trump and other prominent Republicans.

Blagojevich further warned that these cases tend to prejudice the public before any trial begins, a tactic he argues makes it difficult for accused officials to fight back. He credited Trump’s fight for the rule of law for fostering greater public distrust in the Department of Justice (DOJ), calling it a “mafia of political hitmen.”

As the segment concluded, Blagojevich urged both Republicans and Democrats to reserve judgment, reminding viewers that upholding the rule of law and the presumption of innocence is vital in such politically charged cases.
