The Silent Epidemic: How the Porn Industry is Destroying America’s Youth
On last night’s The Angle, Laura delivered a powerful monologue about the devastating impact of the porn industry on America’s children and families. This $100 billion global industry profits not just from adult entertainment but from fostering addiction and exploitation. The normalization of pornographic content in media and culture has led to violence, abuse, and the destruction of innocence.
Laura contrasted society’s claims of empowering young girls with the grim reality they face today. “We hear a lot about empowering girls in school, sports, and the workplace,” she said. “But that powerful message has been twisted—turning tweens into ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’ and teens into walking billboards for the fashion industry’s hypersexual obsession.”

She argued that pornographic ideals have infiltrated culture, normalizing degrading practices like domination and subjugation. These behaviors are not limited to adults. Research cited during the segment showed that 40% of young women who experienced sexual strangulation reported their first encounter between ages 12 and 17.
Laura made a direct connection between pornography consumption and increased violence against women. “The porn industry thrives on addiction, emotional abuse, and violence,” she explained. Websites like Pornhub make harmful content easily accessible to minors. Social media algorithms compound the problem by pushing trends like “choke me daddy” memes and viral content glorifying rough sex.
Emergency rooms now see more injuries caused by these dangerous trends, she said. “It’s gotten so bad that ERs are treating strokes and traumatic brain injuries caused by twisted practices like sexual strangulation.”
A glaring double standard exists in the regulation of harmful materials, Laura pointed out. Alcohol and cigarettes cannot be sold to minors without ID, but the porn industry profits freely from targeting kids. She praised Texas for passing HB 1181, a law requiring age verification to access online pornography. This law successfully forced Pornhub out of the state, marking a significant victory for families.

The porn industry, however, is challenging the law in court. Opponents claim it burdens adults’ access to content. Laura dismissed this argument as “absurd,” comparing it to showing ID to board a plane.
Laura warned about the dangerous trajectory of cultural acceptance. “If we don’t step up, what’s next? Mainstreaming pedophilia?” She highlighted the emergence of terms like “Minor-Attracted Persons” (MAP) on social media and books attempting to destigmatize pedophilia. “This is the slippery slope we’re on,” she said. “It’s time to draw the line.”
She ended with a call to action. “How can we live with ourselves if we stand by and do nothing? Parents, lawmakers, and communities must step up and say enough is enough.”
The Supreme Court will soon hear arguments on the Texas case, a pivotal moment in determining whether the rights of children or the profits of the porn industry take precedence. “We’ll be watching closely to see who sides with the kids and who sides with the porn peddlers,” Laura stated.
The infiltration of the porn industry into mainstream culture has created a crisis. Its impact on America’s youth—through addiction, exploitation, and the erosion of innocence—demands immediate action. Protecting the next generation isn’t just a moral responsibility. It is a societal imperative.
