Colby: Biden Leaves Trump With Depleted Weapons and Rising Tensions

In a recent segment on The Ingraham Angle, Elbridge Colby, a former deputy assistant defense secretary, issued a stark warning about the Biden administration’s handling of the Ukraine war and its impact on U.S. security. Colby argued that these decisions will leave the incoming Trump administration with serious challenges, describing the situation as a “deep, deep hole” that will require careful navigation.
Colby stressed that voters have made it clear they want a different approach to the conflict. However, he criticized President Biden for taking actions that appear more symbolic than effective. “The Biden administration admits these measures won’t change the military situation,” Colby said, referring to reports on weapons shipments. “Neither the Ukrainians nor we have enough of these weapons, and Russia is still advancing.”
Risks of Escalation
Colby also highlighted growing concerns about global instability. He warned that President Biden’s policies could lead to further conflicts, not just with Russia but with other countries like Iran, North Korea, and China. He described the situation as “digging deeper into a hole without any progress” and called the risks of nuclear escalation under Putin’s leadership “very serious.”
Depleted Resources
Adding to his critique, Colby pointed out that the U.S. is running low on critical defense supplies. He cited recent statements by Admiral Paparo, head of Pacific Command, confirming that stockpiles of key weapons like air defense systems are severely depleted. “This leaves Trump and Vice President Vance with limited options,” Colby said. “People need to understand how tough this situation is.”
A Predictable Outcome
Reflecting on earlier discussions, Colby reminded viewers that many of these problems were foreseeable. “We said years ago that this would happen,” he noted. He urged the public to be realistic about the challenges ahead, emphasizing the difficulty of reversing course after years of poor decisions.
Colby’s remarks underscored the urgency of addressing national security issues while setting realistic expectations for the incoming administration. His message was clear: the road ahead will be difficult, but change is necessary.
