Pastor Sewell: Black Men Need a ‘Political Cardiologist,’ Not Harris’ Empty Words
Pastor Lorenzo Sewell from Detroit’s 180 Church and congressional candidate Alfe Goodwin from Pennsylvania recently joined The Ingraham Angle to discuss the challenges facing urban America. In their conversation, they highlighted the deep frustration among voters in cities grappling with persistent economic and social issues.
“In most cities, rich with history and culture, liberal policies have created a rolling tragedy,” Ingraham began. “Kamala Harris, however, wants to keep it going. Her campaign, of course, won’t be honest with voters about these cities. Instead, they use wealthy celebrities to promote the misleading narrative that crime is under control.”
The host pointed out the harsh realities for residents in cities like Detroit and Philadelphia, where rising living costs leave many struggling. Pastor Sewell echoed Ingraham’s view, emphasizing that despite Democratic leadership’s claims, many in the Black community feel disillusioned with the status quo.
Pastor Sewell: Obama and Biden Ignored the ‘Hood’ – Trump Showed Up
Sewell explained, “The issue is President Trump. He is being truthful about Detroit’s struggles. At the Detroit Economic Club, he reshaped the Republican Party’s trajectory.”
He continued, “If Vice President Harris, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden had truly helped Black Americans, they could easily highlight their policies’ impact. Instead, they are stripping away our city’s opportunities. We see it clearly, which is why we are voting for Donald J. Trump.”
Goodwin then offered a pointed critique of the focus on personality over policy in today’s political discourse, stressing that the economic hardships citizens face are undeniable. “People are hurting,” Goodwin stated. “They leave early in the morning and come home exhausted. Our money comes in the front door and out the back. It’s just as simple as that—a direct consequence of the last three and a half years under this administration.”
As the discussion turned to Harris’ outreach efforts to Black male voters, Sewell dismissed her claims of support as out of touch with reality. “Vice President Harris is a political pediatrician. Black men understand we need a political cardiologist,” he asserted.
He concluded, “We need someone like Donald J. Trump, who understands our struggles. Ironically, Obama’s biggest impact on Black America was unintentionally sparking the MAGA movement because of his failures.”
