Trump’s Work Ethic Praised by Dan Patrick: ‘Accountability Matters’

On a recent segment of ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick discussed the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border, highlighting a significant shift in border security under the new administration.

“The nightmare is over, Laura. Before Biden left office, just last week, there were thousands a day trying to cross into this country, and immediately it dropped to hundreds. Immediately they got the message on the other side, ‘don’t come,’” Governor Patrick said.

“Plus, the president has sent in military to back up what we’re already been doing in Texas. We’ve spent over $12 billion trying to protect our own state in America. You know, Democrats are not competent at running anything, Laura. I don’t want to politicize this. It’s just the fact.”

Governor Patrick emphasized the contrast between the current administration and what he views as a lack of competence under previous Democratic leadership.

“[Trump] takes charge. And that’s what America is needed and that’s what the Democrats are not capable of. And when they put him in charge, they do everything they can to destroy the country,” Governor Patrick said.

“They’re totally incompetent and wrong on every issue. And this border, I said to you on your show before he took over on day one, Texas and President Trump would have it locked down. And we do.”

Patrick also described the president as a “workaholic” who is quick to take action. He shared an example of how Trump reached out to him on Christmas morning for information related to the border and how, just days after the inauguration, Trump was ready to get to work in the White House.

“[Trump] expects people to be held accountable. And this is the guy that people have elected and this is why he won,” Governor Patrick explained.

“You know, Laura, you might it would have been great to have him two terms in a row. But you might look back at and say, what happened? Woke up, America.”

The discussion then shifted to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s stance on immigration. Patrick, however, suggested that many residents of blue states, including Illinois and California, are becoming frustrated with what they perceive as rising crime and unsafe conditions.

“A lot of them still vote Democrat. But, you know, that’s not what they believe. And they want these criminals off the streets and all of these blue states are going to have a reckoning,” Governor Patrick said.

“People are fed up. And just because you’ve been voting Democrat all your life, when your house burns down or you see a rapist let out of jail two days after he was arrested, you’re just going to say, you know, forget that my ‘D’ on my jacket that says ‘Democrat,’ I’m not voting for these people anymore. They’re putting my family and my own life in harm’s way.”
