Tommy Tuberville: Chuck Schumer Has Been California’s ‘Sugar Daddy’

On a recent segment of ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville discussed concerns over federal aid to California in the wake of devastating wildfires.

While Laura and Tuberville both acknowledged the state’s need for help, they stressed that the American taxpayers should not continue to fund California’s issues without accountability.

“They have no governors there. They have no leadership. You see what’s going on in all these blue cities and blue states around the country and they just got outed again in California. They get out at every year of what they’ve done and what they’ve not done,” Tuberville explained.

He further stated that the state’s Democratic leadership, including figures like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, had been a “sugar daddy” to California, providing financial relief without addressing the root causes of the state’s budgetary issues.

“Donald Trump is a new sheriff in town. They have nobody to pay their bills. They’re going to have to go to Donald Trump and say, we need your help and that’s fine. We’ll help them. But there’s got to be some stipulations, a law on what we do, how we do it, when we do it, and what we’re going to get out of.”

Tuberville added: “The American taxpayers are sick and tired of watching what’s going on out there with people that are stealing the money, no governance and have no clue what they’re doing.”

Ingraham echoed Tuberville’s concerns, particularly regarding the potential misuse of taxpayer dollars.

“You get the sense, as with most big government projects, Senator, that the money will be going to friends and people who are politically connected or have the same environmental agenda, even though today, Karen Bass and yesterday Gavin Newsom said, no, we’re going to streamline a lot of this permitting,” Laura said. “I don’t think they have any credibility on any of that.”

The conversation also turned to Pete Hegseth’s recent performance during a Senate hearing, with Tuberville praising Hegseth for his handling of the process.

“[Hegseth] knocked it out of the park, Laura. I was a little bit concerned going in. You know, he hadn’t been in a situation like that. He handled it perfectly,” Tuberville said.

“And if anybody votes against him on the Republican side, we’ve got to question their intelligence because he will be the perfect person to get our military back.”
