Stephen Miller: Democrats Choose Crime and Chaos Over Safety
White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller drew a sharp contrast between President Donald Trump’s crime agenda and what he called Democratic “society destroyers” in a recent interview on The Ingraham Angle on Fox News.
Speaking with host Laura Ingraham, Miller stressed that public concern over crime is overwhelming. He cited polling that shows 99% of Americans view crime as a problem in their communities. “Democrats have chosen a 1% issue,” Miller said. “President Trump has shown that if you have the willpower and the strength, you can break the back of these criminal gangs.”
Crime Crisis and Trump’s Record
Miller pointed to Washington, D.C., as proof that Trump’s policies deliver results. According to him, the city has seen “the steepest drop in crime in American history over just the last two weeks.” By contrast, he highlighted Chicago’s ongoing violence, where dozens were shot in a single weekend, including a five-year-old boy.
He then drew a clear choice: Republicans promise safety and peace, while Democrats preside over bloodshed. “That is the Democrat policy. Bloodshed, gang violence and suffering. President Trump and Republicans are offering no crime, security and peace,” Miller said.
Election Integrity and Ballot Security
Miller also shifted the conversation to election issues. He argued that Democrats have weakened trust in voting by promoting “mass anonymous unverified mail-in ballots.” In his view, California allows ballots without checking citizenship, residency, or eligibility.
“Vote by mail voting by cell phone would be vastly more secure,” he said. Miller further claimed that California counts illegal aliens in the census, which in turn creates congressional seats based on noncitizen populations. He called this practice “a direct theft of American franchise and civil rights.”
Funding Law Enforcement
Miller rejected Democratic claims that federal funding cuts drive crime. He countered that Trump signed “the largest increase in law enforcement funding in American history.” That investment, Miller said, is what made it possible to dismantle gangs in Washington, D.C.
By comparison, he said Democratic-led cities continue to suffer because of decades of poor leadership. “These cities do not belong to the citizens, they belong to criminal gangs,” Miller added. He argued that Democratic governors attack the National Guard and federal law enforcement while ignoring gang violence.
“The Democrat Party at every level exists to serve the illegal alien, the criminal, the terrorists, the gang banger, and all of the organizations that shelter and coddle them,” Miller said on The Ingraham Angle. He described Democrats as “society destroyers” and positioned Trump as the leader willing to confront criminals directly.
A Vision for American Cities
Ingraham suggested Trump tour America’s cities to showcase his policies. Miller replied that this is “certainly something that he would consider,” noting Trump’s belief that cities should be safe and livable.
“Our cities should be great. The parks should be beautiful. The schools should be amazing. The sidewalks should be pristine,” Miller said. He emphasized that these goals are realistic if leaders take cities back from “drug addicts, vagrants, and criminal gangs.”
Illegal Immigration and Public Safety
Finally, Miller raised concerns about illegal immigration in California. He said 30,000 criminal aliens in state and local custody are slated for release because the state refuses to cooperate with federal deportation requests.
“These are illegal aliens arrested for state and local crimes,” Miller explained. “ICE said, turn them over to us so we can deport them. The California government has refused. So all 30,000 are going to be sent free back onto the street to rape, maim and murder.”
He described the move as a choice by Governor Gavin Newsom to side with criminals rather than protect law-abiding citizens.
A Clear Choice Ahead
Throughout his appearance on Fox News, Miller framed the election as a referendum on safety. He argued that Trump has already demonstrated how to reduce crime, while Democrats continue to defend policies that fuel chaos.
“The choice has never been more clear,” Miller said. “President Trump and the Republicans don’t care about the feelings of criminals. They want the criminals locked up and they want our safe for Americans.”
