NC Resident Sarah Marino Slams Gov Response After Hurricane Helene

Marino, who evacuated with her family, described the devastation in her neighborhood and the lack of essential resources like water and power for days following the hurricane.

Marino expressed frustration at the absence of government assistance: “After 2 or 3 days, we were like, no power, no water… where are the resources?” She emphasized that despite the damage to her home, the broader community was facing even more severe challenges. “I think people should have access to an MRE or a case of water… but I’m not seeing that, and I’m not hearing that’s happening.”

It’s baffling and insane to me,” she remarked, criticizing the administration’s disconnect from the reality on the ground.

Looking ahead, Marino warned that the people of North Carolina might be forgotten in the aftermath, much like the residents of Maui. With Vice President Kamala Harris scheduled to visit, Marino had little hope for change. “I don’t have words for her. People need to vote in a month, and I hope they make the right decision,” she concluded.
