DHS Yanks Harvard’s Visa Privilege Citing Antisemitism, Campus Violence

Published

In a sweeping move by the Trump administration, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll foreign students under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). The decision takes immediate effect. It blocks the school from accepting any new F-1 or J-1 visa students for the 2025–2026 academic year. It also forces current international students to transfer to another institution to keep their legal immigration status.

“This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus,” Noem said. She added, “It is a privilege, not a right, for universities to enroll foreign students and benefit from their higher tuition payments to help pad their multibillion-dollar endowments.”

DHS: Harvard Ignored Repeated Warnings

The Department of Homeland Security cited Harvard’s repeated refusal to cooperate with federal requests. Those requests focused on records related to misconduct and violence involving foreign students.

“Harvard had plenty of opportunity to do the right thing. It refused,” Noem said.

DHS also accused Harvard of creating “an unsafe campus environment that is hostile to Jewish students.” The letter cited the university’s continued use of “racist diversity, equity, and inclusion policies” and sympathy toward pro-Hamas movements. According to Noem, these failures disqualified Harvard from retaining SEVP certification.

The university was asked to provide records regarding criminal, violent, or threatening behavior involving nonimmigrant students. It failed to provide sufficient documentation and missed key deadlines. DHS said it had no choice but to act.

72 Hours to Comply—or Face Further Action

Harvard still has one final opportunity. If the university wants to regain SEVP certification, it must submit all requested materials within 72 hours. That includes audio and video from campus protests, disciplinary records, and documentation of threats or misconduct.

Noem warned that any attempt to provide false or misleading information could result in prosecution. “Consequences must follow to send a clear signal to Harvard and all universities that want to enjoy the privilege of enrolling foreign students,” she wrote. “The Trump Administration will enforce the law and root out the evils of anti-Americanism and antisemitism in society and campuses.”

Laura’s Take: Long Overdue Accountability

Laura Ingraham has long sounded the alarm on the rot inside elite academia. Harvard, in particular, has ignored antisemitism, promoted radical ideology, and allowed foreign influence to go unchecked. All while hiding behind DEI and federal protection.

This DHS move is more than regulatory enforcement. It’s a long-overdue reckoning. As Noem put it, “Let this serve as a warning to all universities and academic institutions across the country.”

Harvard refused to police itself. Now it’s being held accountable—finally.
