Tom Homan Fires Back at AOC, Defends Deportations Amid Judge’s Ruling
Border czar Tom Homan is pushing back against critics and judicial rulings that have slowed deportation efforts, reaffirming the Trump administration’s aggressive stance on illegal immigration.
In an interview on Fox News, Homan dismissed concerns that court rulings were derailing enforcement efforts. “We’re not slowing down. We’re keeping President Trump’s promise,” he said, adding that ICE is actively carrying out operations across the country.
Homan’s remarks come after U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued an order halting deportation flights to El Salvador, sending back individuals linked to criminal organizations like Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua (TDA). The move stunned Homan, who called the decision “unbelievable.”
“TDA is the enemy of this country. Many of these people have raped, murdered, and pushed fentanyl that killed thousands of Americans,” he said. “For any judge to say, ‘I want them back in the United States,’ just doesn’t make sense.”
Homan also noted that under Trump’s leadership, ICE has already arrested more criminal illegal aliens in six weeks than the Biden administration did in an entire year. He pointed to a 96% drop in illegal migration, arguing that the administration’s policies are directly saving lives.
Homan Responds to AOC’s Criticism
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) recently took aim at Homan, accusing him of “taking attention and resources away” from addressing drug and human trafficking.
Homan, however, was unfazed.
“I take pleasure in the fact that I live in her mind rent-free every day. That means I’m over the target. That means I’m making a difference,” he said.
He then challenged AOC’s claims with data: “How many children aren’t dying? How many women aren’t being sex trafficked? How many suspected terrorists aren’t getting in?” Homan argued that the administration has done “more for New York’s safety and security than AOC ever has or ever will.”
Ending on a defiant note, Homan made it clear that he is not concerned with political opposition.
“I’m not running a popularity contest. If she doesn’t like me, I’ll wear that as a badge of honor. That means I’m doing the right thing.”
