Jillian Michaels Talks Wildfires And Need for Political Change in California

During a recent segment of ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels discussed the historical impact of California wildfires, using the loss of her own home in 2018 as an example. Since then, Michaels has also had to evacuate her mother during the Palisades fire. On the show, she expressed how the ongoing crisis could have significant political ramifications.
“The reality is that we have to make this about negligence and corruption. The truth is, the more we dig in on right and left politics, the more people on the left refuse to see what’s right in front of their faces,” Michaels said.

“The key here is to focus on everything that was done wrong. What needs to happen next? Are the people currently in power capable of facilitating that? To me, the answer is overwhelmingly no.”
Michaels warned that in places like Maui and the Palisades, powerful interests might exploit the crisis. This raises concerns about the future of California’s communities after the fires.
“As a former resident of California, I’d like to see tax relief for people who’ve lost everything, state buybacks at fair market prices, disaster relief grants, and penalties for corporations trying to exploit vulnerable individuals,” Michaels explained.
“But listen, I’m far from an expert here. It will take experts to protect California citizens.”
Ingraham echoed Michaels’ concerns but emphasized that California citizens must demand change.
“I think California citizens need to start protecting themselves by being smart about whom they choose to lead. If they keep going down this same path, this will keep happening,” Laura warned.
“After all, these politicians, Jillian, claimed there was nothing they could do. If that’s the case, why would anyone want to live there?”
