In a recent segment on “The Ingraham Angle,” Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist, blasted Vice President Kamala Harris’s tenure. Hemingway emphasized the challenging position the Democratic Party finds itself in due to the perceived failures of the current administration.

“Democrats have a very difficult situation because the current presidency is a failed presidency, and Kamala Harris is the current vice president,” Hemingway asserted. She argued that attempts to distance Harris from the administration’s shortcomings inadvertently highlight her perceived inadequacies. “What they’re saying, therefore, is that she did nothing while the country burned,” Hemingway continued, pointing to issues with the economy and the border as key areas of failure.

Hemingway also noted the media’s role in attempting to reshape Harris’s image, describing the situation as “bizarre.” According to Hemingway, the media’s efforts to defend Harris, particularly regarding her responsibility for border issues, only serve to deepen public skepticism.

Discussing Harris’s political trajectory, Hemingway remarked, “President Obama wanted her to be like him when he kind of got behind her in 2020, but she did not make an impression on Democrat voters at that time.” She highlighted Harris’s lack of electoral success in the primaries and her subsequent struggle to distinguish herself as vice president.

Hemingway argued that Harris’s extreme policy positions, particularly on energy and environmental issues, alienate her from mainstream American voters. “She actually has a lot of the same views that Joe Biden did, but he was able to kind of present as a moderate. She has never tried until maybe about 24 hours ago to present herself as a moderate. And that is going to come back and hurt her.”

In conclusion, Hemingway suggested that the Democratic Party’s reliance on media support to bolster Harris’s image is a sign of desperation. “They have to use the propaganda press, which they have completely in their pocket, to try to heave her over the finish line,” she asserted.

Hemingway’s comments underscore the significant challenges Harris faces as she navigates her vice presidency and any future political ambitions.
