Hawley: Kamala Owns the Economic Failures and Border Crisis of Past Four Years
In a recent episode of The Ingraham Angle, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and the current administration’s economic policies, particularly following the recent disappointing jobs reports. Hawley argued that the past four years have been a catastrophe, for which Harris is directly responsible.
“What’s happening is the last four years have been an absolute catastrophe,” he began. “She was telling the truth in the clip you played when she said she wouldn’t change anything from the last four years because these are her policies—this jobs report, she owns it,” Hawley argued. “The open borders? She owns it. 15 million illegal immigrants? She owns that, too. Now, she even wants to put them all on Medicare. She can’t run on the facts. She can’t run on her record.”

Hawley then described the political coalition surrounding Harris, including figures like Liz Cheney and Hillary Clinton. “So she wants to talk about Liz Cheney. I mean, good luck with that. These people—these are the most selfish people in the world,” he remarked.
“This is a coalition of the selfish: Kamala, the Cheneys, the Clintons. These people actually don’t have any core beliefs. Their core belief is power, and they will do anything to hold on to it. That’s what you see from Kamala right now,” he added.
Both Laura and Hawley contrasted this with the enthusiasm of Trump supporters, noting the energy and excitement at his recent rallies. “[Democrats] are only happy when they’re telling others what to do and amassing more power… And, of course, Trump is having fun. Winners have fun, number one. But number two, he believes in America. He believes in the people who support him. He believes in the majority of this country,” Hawley explained.
The senator went on to describe Kamala Harris as unhappy, suggesting that she and figures like Liz Cheney lack confidence in their fellow Americans. “The problem with Kamala, and why Liz Cheney is so unhappy, is they know most Americans are against them. They don’t have any confidence in their fellow Americans,” he said.
Laura furthered the critique by questioning the effectiveness of the Harris campaign, referencing a lack of joy and optimism among its leaders. “The other big lie, in addition to today’s latest Big Lie, is the Joy Campaign. That was a classic lie. Their ‘Joy’? That went out the window after the last balloon popped at the convention. There was no joy in that. It’s a cynical, negative, pessimistic view of the American people,” she said.
She argued that Democrats’ messaging feels disconnected from the realities of everyday citizens, contrasting it with the vibrant energy among Trump’s supporters. Hawley agreed, adding, “They’ve gone from calling this a joyful campaign to calling anybody who opposes them garbage. That’s what [Democrats] really believe. Every so often, they reveal what they truly believe.”
