Cuomo And De Blasio Join Forces to Shut Down Indoor Dining in NYC
“Indoor dining will close in New York City starting Monday,” said Gov. Cuomo on Friday.
He blamed the “rising inflation rate and NYC’s density” for the drastic decision.
Cuomo said that restaurants can continue to provide “takeout and delivery” and that the “outdoor dining will continue.”
Indoor dining will close in New York City starting Monday.
Hospitalizations have not stabilized, and with a rising infection rate and NYC’s density, this means that indoor dining is too high of a risk.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, embraced Cuomo’s order, saying that he “fully support Gov. Cuomo’s decision” and that together “we’ll fight back this second wave.”
As #COVID19 indicators continue to rise, it’s time to shut down indoor dining. This is painful. So many restaurants are struggling. But we can’t allow this virus to reassert itself in our city.
I fully support @NYGovCuomo's decision. Together we'll fight back this second wave. https://t.co/NWY9xmjGdh— Mayor Bill de Blasio (@NYCMayor) December 11, 2020
