Biden’s Adviser pushing for ‘4-6 weeks lockdowns’
“We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the wages, lost wages, for individual workers,” Michael Osterholm told “CNBC.” “The federal borrowing could bail out small- and medium-sized companies, cities, states, and county governments.”
Osterholm who serves as director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, was appointed by Joe Biden to be part of his Covid Task Force.
“If we did that, then we could lockdown for four to six weeks, and if we did that, we could drive the numbers down,” he said. “Like they’ve done in Asia. Like they did in New Zealand and Australia.”
“A nationwide lockdown would drive the number of new cases and hospitalizations down to manageable levels while the world awaits a vaccine,” insisted Osterholm.
