Miller: Deportation Facility Protects Americans, Halts Dangerous Illegals
Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, strongly defended Florida’s new immigration detention facility, “Alligator Alcatraz,” emphasizing its necessity for public safety and national security.
Why Florida’s New Detention Facility is Needed
“Thanks to President Trump’s massive increase in ICE arrests nationwide, all ICE beds have been filled up,” Miller explained. The Trump administration, partnering with Florida, rapidly constructed the Everglades-based facility to house criminal illegal aliens awaiting deportation. Miller underscored the urgency, saying, “We need to begin contracting immediately to expand the number of ICE beds.”
The facility, dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” can house up to 3,000 detainees and was built in just eight days. Miller praised Florida’s use of state resources, highlighting that the state facility significantly expands bed space crucial for managing increased arrests under Trump’s aggressive immigration policies.
Expansion of the Initiative to Other States
Miller issued a clear call to action to other governors: “We want every governor of a red state, if you’re watching tonight, pick up the phone, call DHS, work with us to build facilities in your state so that we can get the illegals out, we can get the criminals out.” He sharply criticized Democrats for their stance, declaring, “They love the illegals. They hate the Americans.”
Public Safety and Preventing Escapes
Addressing criticism from Florida Democrats who called the facility “political theater” and “dehumanizing,” Miller sharply countered by stating the real threat was posed by criminal aliens. “There have been repeated multiple attempts by violent criminal aliens and cartel thugs to escape ICE detention,” he said. These individuals, according to Miller, pose a significant danger to public safety.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are targeting eight foreign terrorist organizations, including six Mexican drug cartels,” Miller said. “These are dangerous, ruthless organizations. A facility like this ensures the security of officers and the public, preventing jailbreaks.”
Reclaiming American Safety and Humanity
Miller pushed back forcefully against the notion that the facility is inhumane. “What’s dehumanizing is when American citizens are stripped of their rights and liberties by the invasion of illegal aliens,” he declared. He argued that the true injustice occurs when Democrats “let illegal alien rapists into the country to attack our children.”
“We reclaim our humanity when we get these monsters off the street,” Miller asserted, emphasizing the administration’s goal to enforce stringent consequences leading to self-deportation.
Urgent Call for Congressional Action
Miller also urged immediate action from Congress to pass Trump’s comprehensive immigration enforcement bill, calling it “the big, beautiful bill” crucial to ICE’s deportation mission. This legislation, he argued, includes historical achievements such as the largest spending cut, welfare reform, tax reduction, and immigration enforcement package in American history.
To oppose this bill is to support the invasion,” Miller stated, warning opponents they risk enabling continued illegal entry and economic exploitation at taxpayers’ expense.
Miller concluded confidently, predicting the bill’s swift passage through Congress as a testament to President Trump’s resolute leadership on immigration and fiscal responsibility.
