Bongino: FBI Will Hunt Down Child Predators and Illegal Criminals

In a detailed statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino laid out a bold plan for law enforcement priorities under the Trump administration. The message signals a new era focused on aggressive immigration enforcement, a nationwide crackdown on child predators, and a push for greater accountability.
Bongino praised the “overtime” efforts of FBI task forces already working to remove dangerous illegal aliens from the country. “If you came here illegally to prey on our citizens, your days here are numbered,” he wrote. These operations, he said, are part of a broader push in coordination with the administration to seal the border shut.
He emphasized that these enforcement actions will reshape the national crime landscape—and made clear that the operations will ramp up, not slow down.
FBI Targets Crimes Against Children
One of the agency’s top priorities, according to Bongino, is taking down those who exploit children. He pointed to “Operation Restoring Justice,” which led to the arrest of 764 individuals nationwide for crimes involving children.
“We are going to take your freedom if you take away a child’s innocence,” Bongino warned. “Think twice if you’ve targeted children, because you’re next.”
Bongino also responded to public demands for transparency. He said the FBI has quickly responded to information requests from Congress on several major incidents. These include the attack on Rep. Steve Scalise, the Nashville shooting, the Crossfire Hurricane probe, and the COVID origins cover-up.
He confirmed that the bureau is working closely with the Department of Justice on the Epstein investigation. According to Bongino, the FBI is reviewing large volumes of child abuse material and handling sensitive victim statements with care. “We need to do this correctly,” he said, while also recognizing the public’s desire for swift disclosure.
Bongino shared that the FBI is managing these efforts while operating under budget constraints. He said the agency is prioritizing its mission and conducting weekly meetings with financial and tech leads to eliminate waste and improve operations. “It’s your money, and it’s your FBI,” he said.
He also addressed recent media attacks on FBI leadership. Defending Director Kash Patel, Bongino dismissed accusations that the Director is uninvolved or inactive. “Any assertion otherwise is a verifiable lie designed to stop our reforms and fracture your trust,” Bongino said.
He ended the post with a clear message: the public should expect even more action from the FBI in the coming months. “Other things are happening as well,” he wrote. “They will become evident soon. Keep watching us and holding us accountable.”
