Friday Follies: Meghan Markle’s Never-Ending Media Makeover
On this week’s Friday Follies, Laura Ingraham and Raymond Arroyo took aim at Meghan Markle’s latest attempt to stay in the spotlight—another podcast and a Netflix show struggling to find an audience.
Another Podcast, Another Rebrand
Markle’s new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, is her latest attempt at reinvention. But as Arroyo pointed out, it follows the high-profile collapse of her $20 million Spotify deal, where reports claimed she didn’t even conduct her own interviews. “She had a staffer do the interviews, and they would drop her questions in later,” he noted.
Laura had a different name in mind for Markle’s latest venture: Insufferable. “I’m good at branding,” she joked, suggesting that Markle’s new show might face the same fate as her previous projects.
Netflix Flop?
Arroyo also highlighted the lukewarm reception of Markle’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle and cooking show that appears to be struggling. “It’s going about as well as her relationship with the royal family,” he quipped, noting that despite low viewership, Netflix has already renewed it for a second season.
The Queen Saw It Coming
As the conversation wrapped, Laura pointed out that the late Queen Elizabeth had long anticipated Markle’s rocky trajectory. “She saw this train wreck coming a mile away,” Laura remarked, reinforcing the idea that Markle’s media ventures continue to generate more headlines than actual success.
Whether it’s another podcast, another show, or another rebrand, Friday Follies made one thing clear—Markle’s media moves remain prime material for laughs.
