Greenwald: U.S. Funds Ukraine’s Destruction While Ignoring American Interests

In a recent segment of The Ingraham Angle, investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald joined Laura Ingraham to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine and its broader implications. Greenwald, known for his unflinching critiques of the establishment, provided sharp insights into Washington’s continued support for the conflict. He described it as a tragic geopolitical maneuver that sacrifices Ukrainian lives for strategic gain.
Highlighting Donald Trump’s consistent positioning as the peace candidate in this election, Greenwald contrasted it with the current administration’s war-oriented policies. He emphasized Trump’s genuine foreign policy instincts, citing his 2016 campaign promise to break away from the “Bush-Cheney-Obama orthodoxy.” “He was the only president in decades not to involve the United States in a new war,” Greenwald noted. Additionally, he remarked, “The problem with war is that it kills huge numbers of people. You’ll never hear Kamala Harris talk about that.”
Speaker Johnson: Voters Care About Policy, Not Trump’s Cholesterol
Addressing the media’s silence on the human cost of the war, Greenwald criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s portrayal of U.S. involvement in Ukraine as a moral duty. He argued their real goal was weakening Russia, regardless of the toll on Ukrainian lives. “They’re killing Ukrainians to serve a broader geopolitical agenda,” he stated, calling the approach “grotesquely immoral.”
Greenwald also noted the lack of political discussion surrounding the Ukraine war. While Trump continues to speak about ending the conflict, few others do the same. “The American people don’t care about it,” Greenwald asserted, pointing out that domestic issues like inflation and the economy take precedence. He added, “This is why there’s growing resentment that D.C. prioritizes foreign wars over the welfare of American citizens.”
As U.S. aid to Ukraine climbs into the billions, Greenwald’s comments highlight voters’ increasing disillusionment. He concluded by emphasizing that many Americans feel abandoned by their leaders, as Washington focuses on international conflicts while neglecting pressing issues at home.
