Biden’s Legacy: High Prices, Offshore Drilling Bans, and Failed Policies
In a recent segment of ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt criticized President Joe Biden’s legacy as he prepares to leave the White House. Schmitt claimed Biden harbors resentment toward the Democratic Party and his own presidency.
“[Biden’s] left a dumpster fire for President Trump to fix,” Schmitt said. “What he’ll be remembered for now is his failed legacy and being the guy between Trump’s two terms. That’s tough for him to swallow.”
Schmitt highlighted how Biden, once known as “Scranton Joe,” led a highly progressive administration. “He presided over the most leftist government in American history. It left working families behind. Now, the Republican Party is the party of working families,” Schmitt stated.

Under Biden, prices for essentials like food, rent, and energy have soared. CNN reported families pay $1,200 more for the same items compared to January 2021. Laura observed, “That’s why Trump won this election.” Schmitt agreed and pointed to Biden’s bans on offshore drilling, which worsened financial strains for working-class communities.
“Biden banned offshore drilling, costing $6.5 trillion in revenue. He doesn’t get it. He’s upset but doesn’t understand the problem,” Schmitt added.
To move forward, Schmitt advocated for fiscal reform. He proposed spending cuts instead of tax hikes. “If we return to 2019 spending levels, we’d have a budget surplus with current revenue. We don’t have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem,” Schmitt explained.
Through reconciliation, Schmitt argued, Republicans could achieve this with 51 Senate votes, a Republican House, and Trump in the White House. “That’s the path forward,” he concluded.
