EXCLUSIVE AUDIO: Rand Paul responds to the Rachel Maddow interview
Posted by Staff
On The Laura Ingraham Show this morning, Kentucky's Republican candidate for Senate Rand Paul clarified remarks he made on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show last night.

Paul, who was asked by Maddow last night if he would support the reinstitution of Bob Jones University's ban on interracial dating, definitively answered the question of whether he would have voted for the Civil Rights Act.

8:15 - Laura: "Would you have voted for the Civil Rights Act?"

Paul: "Yes, because I think the preponderance of the evidence was that we had some abhorrent things going on in our society--segregation, the Jim Crow laws...I think the south had failed and that the federal government did have a role in ending discrimination in all of these practices."
